I remember being on holiday in France and seeing posters for this (L'arme Fatale) and that Sidney Poitier movie where they're chasing The Kurgen through the mountains. Looks like only one of them bagged a spot in my memory.

Trailer Park: Easy Rider - The Ride Back
No, it's not a porno remake - it's an actual sequel/prequel to 60's classic Easy Rider. Not sure how connected the production actually is with the original. According to the blurb:
"The long awaited prequel/sequel to one of the highest grossing independent films of all time, "Easy Rider" defined the thoughts and values of a generation. EASY RIDER: THE RIDE BACK shows through flashbacks how these much loved characters became the classic icons of a generation."
Looks like a total turd to me.

Trailer Park: X-Men - The Mad Men Years
"Charles" and "Erik", not exactly the most badass superhero names you'll ever hear... Enjoyed Kick-Ass from director Matthew Vaughn so this might be ok; on the other hand, as Wolverine: The Wonder Years showed, there's very little peril involved in these prequels where we know who makes it to the later films.

Trailer Park: Tree of Life
I rate him as one of the greatest living directors alongside Peter Weir, so you can imagine how excited I was when the trailer for Terrence Malick's Tree of Life came online today. I already watched a hooky bootleg last week, but now it's in glorious 1080p over at Apple.
Looks great, but still no real expalnation of what it's about ...with a retro life story seemingly juxtaposed with some sort of sc-fi element. I love movies.

Trailer Park: Monsters
Monsters is picking up a lot of buzz recently for it's old-school shocks and clever premise - aliens arrived back on a NASA probe and have been mutating and growing for 6 years.
The movie is a firt-time directorial effort from effects man Gareth Edwards. It's not quite on the same clever-with-the-budget page as Panic Attack, 28 Days Later or Blair Witch, looking more like a low(er) budget version of Cloverfield or even the Dawn of the Dead remake, but certainly attention worhty.

The making-of featured in Girls of the Playboy Mansion months ago (apparently. I wouldn't know), but now there's a trailer for Somewhere - Sofia Coppola's follow-up to the mis-firing Marie Antoniette, and racist-but-thoroughly-entertaining Lost In Translation. In HD on Youtube and over at Apple.
Hanging out in hotels makes things look nice.

We've totally missed the boat on this one, as I caught the end of it on TV last night - but thought it was worth a few bytes of your time for a couple of reasons:
1) It's the loopiest concept I have seen in a long time
2) The production is also bonkers, shot entirely with hand-held consumer video cameras - mostly at super-fast shutter speeds of 1/1000 or 1/2000th of a second
Check it out here. The trailer's probably enough for most people.

Trailer Park: Everybody's Fine
Upcoming remake Everybody's Fine could be another tipping point for De Niro, and this one could go either way. With What Just Happened?, he seemed to have put his shakiest decade behind him and started on the road to recovery - and while this trailer stinks like a Shining parody, the film could actually be quite good. We'll see.
