Trailer Park: Tuff Turf
"They can't shut him down. And they can't cool him off." Got a solid 1.5 stars in 1985 from Roger Ebert, who noted
"Tuff Turf" is the worst teenage exploitation movie since "Where the Boys Are". It even has an equally wimpy hero, a young actor named James Spader who seems so laid back and introspective and sensitive and zonked that it is occasionally all he can to do rouse himself to the level of speech.

Trailer Park: Sample This
Jam on it! J-J-Jam on it! Documentary looking at the influence of the Incredible Bongo Band's classic version of Apache on hip hop.
SAMPLE THIS is the true story of how unknown music producer Michael Viner brought together the greatest studio musicians of the 1970's to create an album that ultimately went nowhere…until the summer of 1973, when DJ Herc took the percussion breaks from that obscure album and extended them by playing them back to back. His beats became an anthem on the streets of the Bronx and ultimately the genre of Hip Hop, becoming one of the most sampled tracks in history and used by artists from Will Smith and Missy Elliott to Amy Winehouse and Jay-Z.

Matthew Herbert: The End Of Silence
New Herbert album available on Bandcamp.
Following on from Matthew Herbert’s ‘One’ trilogy - One One, One Club and One Pig - ‘The End Of Silence’ takes the idea of a single sound source to its logical conclusion by utilizing only one five second audio recording as the sole source for the whole album.
Matthew was emailed a recording made by photographer Sebastian Meyer during the battle of Ras Lanuf in Libya on 11th March 2011. In the brief recording, a pro-Gadaffi plane can be heard approaching, a whistled warning, a shout and then, as if from nowhere, a bomb. It is this recording that makes up the entirety of this record.

Short looking at FX legend Douglas Trumbull's plans to get some HD UFO footage. Good idea. More details of a feature-length drama he's planning (about a man who wants to film some UFOs) over at THR - shooting in 4K 3D at 120 frames per second. He's also developing "a sci-fi epic that takes place about 200 years in the future”. We're in.
UFOTOG, an acronym for UFO photography, is “based on a longer screenplay that I have” that tells the story of a man’s attempt to photograph an alien spacecraft. “He’s very smart, a serial entrepreneur, like Elon Musk. So he has the wherewithal to get a really good camera and build a system on a mountaintop.” The photographer is played by actor Ryan Winkles.

Read on TwitterTrailer Park: A Band Called Death
Interesting looking doc on the cult band described as being "punk before punk".
"Before Bad Brains, the Sex Pistols or even the Ramones, there was Death. Formed in the early ’70s by three teenage brothers from Detroit, Death is credited as being the first black punk band, and the Hackney brothers, David, Bobby, and Dannis, are now considered pioneers in their field. But it wasn’t until recently — when a dusty 1974 demo tape made its way out of Bobby’s attic nearly 30 years after Death’s heyday — that anyone outside a small group of punk enthusiasts had even heard of them. Equal parts electrifying rockumentary and epic family chronicle, the story of Death is one of brotherly love and fierce, divinely inspired expression."
