Tougher Than Leather
While digging up old Beastie Boys clips in the last couple of weeks (#RIPMCA) I came accross an upload of the entire Tougher Than Leather movie - starring Run DMC, but with cameos from the Beasties (doing non-album track 'Desperado') and other 80s Def Jam stars.
The movie itself is like a feature-length A-Team episode.

Another stupid Star Wars/Advertising tie-in .....though this one's for Volkswagen, who nailed that ad with the kid using the force at the last Superbowl. The Bark Side is an ad for an ad that will show at the Superbowl this Sunday. I remain to be convinced.
Next up, the tepid return of Ferris Bueller, in an underwhelming Honda ad. Bah.

BBTF vs Nike Update
Some more info on those Nike Mag trainers from Back To The Future. Robert Zemekis wheeled out Christopher Lloyd for a cameo-packed promo film to launch the fund-raising recreating of the shoe ... and Tiny Tempah was one of the winning bidders, paying $37,500 for the shoes that he will "never wear".

Since Back To The Future 2 premiered in 1989, I'm pretty sure every male that saw it has dreamed of one day owning a pair of self-lacing Nikes. Now's your chance, as Nike are producing 1500 pairs of the shoes for a special auction to raise money for Michael J Fox's Foundation for Parkinson's Research. Skate or die: Barbarians at the Gate
Great slice of 90's skate action with Josh Beagle, Ronnie Creager and Heath Kirchart leading the charge in this Spike Jonze-related skate classic which sends the under-age drinkers on an irrsponsible road-trip accross America. It starts with a ridiculous Land Rover jump and heads downhill from there, beautifully soundtracked along the way.
I've been Googling for this skate video classic every 12 months or so, and finally some conscience-free skate fan has had the decency to dump the whole thing onto YouTube as a playlist. My US NTSC VHS copy was getting a little unplayable.
